Time for exploring the South Island. Going from the North to the South took about 4 hours and we were quite surprised to see that the ferry was an old danish one, still with danish writing on the walls. Funny :) But eventhough we made it safely to the South Island and we could begin our trip there.

Vi nyder stadig livet :)
Still enjoying life :)
On the road - altid massevis af lækre udsigter.
On the road - always lots of beautiful views.
Så blev det Kaikoura..
Kaikoura it is..
In Kaikoura we went swimming with dolphins. In total we had four swims, in groups of up to 600 Dusky Dolphins. The dolphins are wild and you are not allowed to touch them, but instead try to entertain them to get their attention. This is done by making sounds or "dolphin-like" movements. When you succed, you might get to swim in cirkles with a dolphin, which is quite unique and amazing.
An awesome experience we wont forget anytime soon!!
After the swim we had some phototime on the boat and get a shot of some of the playful dolphins.
After Kaikoura, we drove North-West to Abel Tasman National Park. At the camp we were staying at, there was a track to Harwood Hole, the biggest gorge in the Southern Hemisphere - 180 meters!
The Harwood Hole.
And then the bad weather came along! We had gone out to the coast of Abel Tasman National Park and had planned to enjoy the beautiful beaches and walks but instead we had to rush out of there because of flooded roads.. So a bit more action than we had planned and we didn't see as much in the area as we wanted to. But thats how it goes :)

Near Hokitika, on the Westcoast, we went to the Blue Gorge - the water was supposed to be blue..we felt like we had been ripped off! :)
